Our Q4 Agency Round-Up

Welcome to our quarterly company roundup series, where you’ll be keeping up with everything and anything Colewood! Let’s get going…

New Starters

With the speed at which we are growing as a company, we have recruited some more newbies onto the team here at Colewood during Q4.

First up is our new PPC account manager Adam! Adam has joined the PPC team at Colewood to pursue his passion for Pay-Per-Click marketing and we are excited to see how he grows within the team. 

Secondly, we have our new SEO Content Writer Katie! Katie joined the team in November and has already brought her knowledge and experience to the team. We are looking forward to seeing her progress heading into the new year. 

With a busy quarter for new starters, and expanding our teams at Colewood, the third and final new starter is our Graduate Scheme employee Katie! By introducing a new graduate scheme here at Colewood in November of 2021, we are excited to be helping graduates enter into the world of digital marketing. Katie has bought a wealth of knowledge fresh out of university and is ready to get stuck in, working with each department over her time here at the company, where she will learn the ropes of PPC, SEO, Email and Design. 

Diving headfirst into awards season

The run-up to Christmas see’s award ceremony season for Colewood! 

In November, our Female director Helen Stewart was shortlisted for Inspiring Employer Medium in the Inspiring Females Awards 2021. Our team from Colewood went to the NEE chamber for the awards ceremony in Newcastle. Although the team did not win the award, we are extremely proud of Helen as Colewood’s inspiring female director and are looking forward to seeing what 2022 brings for Helen and the team. 

2021 has also seen us be nominated and shortlisted for the Northern Digital Awards. The Northern Digital Awards recognise the very best in digital marketing campaigns and talent in the region and reward websites across a number of sectors. Colewood is very much looking forward to the announcement of the winners in January of 2022 and we are already so proud to be shortlisted amongst many other brilliant companies within the industry. 

What else have we been up to? 

Black Friday Client Successes! 

With another year of uncertainty and everything going on in the world during 2021, this year’s Black Friday sales have been one to remember when it comes to our clients! With more people than ever shopping online, rather than in stores these days, even with the world back to some form of normality, our clients flourished over this year’s Black Friday weekend and the results are in to prove it!

Our client Bass Bags saw huge growth in revenue over the Black Friday weekend in comparison to last year, reaching an amazing 223% increase. Transactions for Bass Bags were also up in comparison, increasing by a huge 70%. 

Another Black Friday success story comes from our client Canvas Tent Shop. In comparison to Black Friday weekend in 2020, they saw a huge increase in revenue by a whopping 522%! Transactions were up 33% and their conversion rate has increased by 130% in comparison to last year. 

With those just a few of many successes Colewood’s clients have had over Black Friday, it is without a doubt that well done and correctly executed campaigns are essential to have put in place before the hectic weekend commences, to ensure huge growth and figures such as these across the festive period. It is clear with these results, that after such a wash-out Christmas last year, shoppers were much keener to splash the cash and make the most out of the Black Friday deals our clients offered this year. 

The team has worked extremely hard, especially during these busy festive periods to offer our clients only the best services we can to assist them in the successful running of their business all year round.

The introduction of our new graduate scheme

Q4 has been a busy one here at Colewood, but we were so excited to proceed with our introduction of the new graduate scheme. The idea is to give graduates the opportunity to get on the job experience within each of our marketing teams, learn more about working in specific channels and learn relevant skills within the workplace. By putting this scheme in place, we are now able to give graduates the opportunity of training, the ability to try different specialisms over a 12 month period to see which areas of marketing they’re interested in and would like a career in. The scheme will lead to a full-time permanent role after 12 months, whilst still receiving a full-time salary throughout the scheme. With Katie being our first graduate to join the team, we are excited to see how this scheme develops and helps both the graduate and Colewood to ensure we are growing and expanding our company with the best employees possible.
